THAI SHIATSU: THE HEALING POWER OF TOUCH with Ken Nelson
Enjoy the ordinary magic of stretching. Lighten your spirit, and increase your freedom of movement. Get support for healing and wholeness through joint mobility, flexibility and compassionate community. Learn methods to relieve pain and chronic tension in the hips, thighs, pelvis, spine, neck and shoulders by rehabilitating connective tissue —countering the shortening and stiffening effects of aging, injuries and neglect.
Learn to give and receive a set of assisted-yoga postures. You'll apply easy-to-learn, effortless Shiatsu and Thai massage methods: passive stretching, acupressure, twisting, range-of-motion joint mobilization, energy balancing, breathing, and gentle rocking.
Thai-Shiatsu Bodywork is rooted in Yoga Therapy, Energy Medicine and Meridian Theory. It complements many yoga styles and unifies chakras and meridians into one energy-conducting system. It restructures fascia, the fabric of life—a living crystalline web of healing bioelectric signals through which meridians weave their vital life force (Prana or Qi).
You will learn to:
- Give a basic massage
- Use your palms, thumbs, knees and feet as healing instruments
- Learn rotation, extension and compression techniques
- Adapt your methods to care for yourself and your partner
Note Thai-Shiatsu is done fully clothed on comfortable floor mats. For more information on this program, please visit www.SacredHealingArts.net or contact Ken at Ken@SacredHealingArts.net

The care that Susanne has taken in the creation of
Yoga in the Adirondacks studio extends to the respect she gives all
that come there. It is a very special place: serene and beautifully
connected to the majestic landscape around it.
The Energy Play workshop allowed me to connect to
my emotions in a playful way and transform a fearful
tight feeling to one of acceptance and love when I suddenly laughed
all through my body.
